My Third Week with Going Pink Wednesday!!

This is my third Wednesday to participate in Going Pink Wednesday in October.   It has been so much fun for me.  I search through all my polishes to select the most perfect and awesome pink polishes I can find.  Their pinkness must be of such a high supreme to even be considered for my Going Pink Wednesday manicure.  I even purchased some new very select BCA polishes.  For this manicure only the best and most gorgeous will be selected.

So this leads me to my polish selection for this week.  I purchased them from Pretty & Polished,  they are a duet.  You can wear them alone or you can wear them together.  Their names are You are Beautiful which is a beautiful pink shimmer.  The other is BCA which is the initails for Breast Cancer Awareness.  BCA is a gorgeous pink glitter polish.

I applied two coats of You are Beautiful as a base and then layered two coats of BCA over You are Beautiful.  They are a match made in heaven!!

I'm sure you will agree with me on how gorgeous this manicure turned out

Here they are!  They sing together and make the most gorgeous pink music!

Oh, well they turned around.  Ummmmmmm......They must be very happy to show us their rear view!

And....Closeups we have closeups!

You know I have always wondered why someone chose pink to be Breast Cancer Awareness color.  I would love for you to share the information in my comments if you know the answer to this!
Awwww, this is so pretty in pink!

I am very proud to wear this gorgeous pink polish.

I think that I told you before that I LOVE pink.  Yeah, I can't get enough of it!

I always have to say this...Pink is for Patty!

Let me ask you a question.  Have you ever had a mammogram?  Is it time?  Then you need to get one!

Early detection could save your life!  I want you around for a long time!

I have my papers right now to go and get my test.  I will be calling for my appointment!

It's not fair leaving me out here by myself.  Check in the your doctor  to get your papers!

You know it is only uncomfortable for a few minutes.  And, before you know it it's over!

I do want to thank Pretty & Polished for creating this stunning and sparkling duo!

It is a privilage to wear my pink war paint for this cause.

I do this in honor of  my Aunt Betty.  You will never be forgotten!! ♥

If you have fallen in love with these polishes and would like to purchase them; they are available at Pretty & Polished Etsy shop HERE.
She also sells through Llarowe.
You can check out her Facebook page for any updates, new releases and fun information.

I hope life is treating you well!

May your day and night be filled with stunning pink glitter!

  3. Wow! I've been reading lots of pink Wed. posts this morning. I must say that I want to thank you for putting those words of wisdom between your pictures. Early detection for any type of cancer is ESSENTIAL! I lost my daddy at age 51, last year to stage 4 cancer. I begged him to go to the doctor for over a year. It was too late when he went. He died exactly 6 months from the day he was diagnosed and had one chemo and radiation treatment left to do. PLEASE get screened regularly ladies. You want to be reading the witty yet informative posts of the lovely Patty for a long time to come.

    1. Reading your reply to me and the way you felt about my humor actually brought tears to my eyes. I lost my daddy at age 51 as well. Our story is the same, it was too late when he went to the doctor. He lost his battle after great suffering. To sit and watch our loved ones in pain wrenches our hearts. The main thing I took my my daddy's death was early detection could have saved him. That is always my message. Please take responsibility for your own health.....go get tested, go get your mammograms! Save a life...save your life!!
I thank you so much nantz24 for your wonderful comments!

  4. I cheated and copied the most simple version of the history and meaning behind the pink ribbon from wiki. I did do some other research though and found that this is the accurate story behind the ribbon.

    "History

The first known use of a pink ribbon in connection with breast cancer awareness was in the fall of 1991, when the Susan G. Komen Foundation handed out pink ribbons to participants in its New York City race for breast cancer survivors.[1]
The pink ribbon was adopted as the official symbol of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month the next year, in 1992.[2] The pink ribbon was derived from the popular red ribbon for AIDS awareness. Alexandra Penney, the editor-in-chief of the women's health magazine Self, and breast cancer survivor Evelyn Lauder,[3] the senior corporate vice president at the cosmetics company Estée Lauder created a ribbon for the cosmetics giant to distribute in stores in New York City.
Estée Lauder and Self initially approached Charlotte Haley, who had began a peach-coloured ribbon campaign to press the National Cancer Institute to increase its budget for cancer prevention research. Haley refused to be part of what she felt was a commercial effort, so Estée Lauder and Self changed the color of their ribbon to light pink in 2005, to circumvent Haley's efforts to stop them.[4][5]
A pink and blue ribbon is sometimes used to symbolize breast cancer in men, which is relatively rare. The pink and blue ribbon was designed in 1996 by Nancy Nick, president and founder of the John W. Nick Foundation to bring awareness that "Men Get Breast Cancer Too!"[6]
    [edit]Meaning

The color pink is considered feminine in modern Western countries. It evokes traditional feminine gender roles, caring for other people, being beautiful, being good, and being cooperative.[2]
The pink ribbon represents fear of breast cancer, hope for the future, and the charitable goodness of people and businesses who publicly support the breast cancer movement.[7] It is intended to evoke solidarity with women who currently have breast cancer.
Breast cancer organizations use the pink ribbon to associate themselves with breast cancer, to promote breast cancer awareness, and to support fundraising.[8] Some breast cancer-related organizations, such as Pink Ribbon International,[9] use the pink ribbon as their primary symbol. Susan G. Komen for the Cure uses a stylized "running ribbon" as their logo.[10]
While specifically representing breast cancer awareness, the pink ribbon is also a symbol and a proxy of goodwill towards women in general.[11] Buying, wearing, displaying, or sponsoring pink ribbons signals that the person or business cares about women. The pink ribbon is a marketing brand for businesses that allows them to promote themselves with women and identify themselves as being socially aware.[12] Compared to other women's issues, promoting breast cancer awareness is politically safe.[13]"

    1. Thank you again!! I truly appreciate this information. That is another thing ladies. We need to be and stay educated. The more educated we are, the more we can manage and even sometimes educate our doctors.
      You are wonderful! <3
